         INDIAN ARMED FORCES FLAG DAY 

   

 Today is december 7 we are celebrating this day as Indian armed forces Flag day.This day honors their sacrifices and unwavering dedication to preserving the peace, freedom, and security of the country.

Indian Army Types

     It consists of three professional uniformed services the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force. Additionally, the Indian Armed Forces are supported by the Central Armed Police Forces, Indian Coast Guard and Special Frontier Force and various inter-service commands and institutions such as the Strategic Forces Command, the Andaman and Nicobar Command and the Integrated Defence Staff. The President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces.

    In remembrance of our soldiers, veterans, and Indian Armed Forces martyrs, December 7th is designated as Armed Forces Flag Day each year. This day is observed as a show of support and admiration for members of the military services who give their lives in defence of the country.

 Reason for Armed Forces Day         

     On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy and Air Force Days. The single-day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under one department -- the Department of Defense.
