     April, 12th – Cosmonautics Day. On April 12 we celebrate a very important day that marked the beginning of space era. On April 12, 1961 legendary Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin performed the first ever space flight that lasted for 108 minutes.



History 

     Russia commemorates the 64th anniversary of the first human space flight by Yuri Gagarin (USSR), it is also preparing itself for what the future holds in space exploration. One of the goals of the country in this regard is sending a new space station. While speaking to Firstpost, Russian Pilot-Cosmonaut Denis Mateev said he looks forward to the mission.In 1962, at the initiative of Gagarin's colleague and understudy, German Titov, the celebration of Cosmonautics Day was established. There were themed postcards. The issue of greeting cards accompanied every achievement of the USSR in space, but after 1961 their circulation grew to an incredible scale. Printing houses printed portraits of cosmonauts, images of Soviet spaceships, illustrations of distant planets, and pictures for children. Other products, such as calendars, stamps, albums, etc., were also affected by the space theme.
